Bike Safety EventS

BIKE SAFETY

PVE is a beautiful place to ride a bike.  PVE Neighbhrhood Watch has been engaged the conversation with the PVE PD and other cycling organizations to bring bike and e-bike safety training and information to parents, youth and adults.

Use the information below from past events to help in purchasing an e-bike or obtaining training and information on cycling.

PVE NW Participates in Bike Safety Event with PVE Police Department (Event on 7/29/23)

The PVE Neighborhood Watch participated in the Bike Safety Event on Saturday, July 29.  Youth and adults from PVE and local cities participated in a classroom training/disucssion, a practical bike safety course and a pizza lunch.  We were please to support such an important event for traffic and youth safety.

The PVE PD hopes to provide future events in the upcoming months.  Enjoy some of the photos from the event.

Safety Considerations You Need to Know Before or After Buying an E-Bike
(Zoom event held 12/12/22)

The PVE Neighborhood Watch is pleased to coordinate an e-bike safety session for residents of PVE.   This event was held at the end of 2022 via Zoom to help parents to be informed on they should know before or after buying an e-bike or your child or yourself.
Helpful guidance on safety considerations and discussion on the various types of e-bikes was covered. We were proud to have collaborated with the PVE PD and community leaders to provide this educational information and a Q&A session.

Because we had been hearing from a number of residents about safety concerns primarily about youth e-cyclers in our City, we felt it would be helpful to address questions and provide youth, parents and other residents with information about e-bikes.  Whether you are thinking about purchasing and e-bike or you have already purchased an e-bike or wonder what are the rules for riding e-bikes in our city, this will be an informative meeting.

There are some unique considerations for e-bikes for both adults and youth and having this awareness is a first step in educating riders and parents of youth riders.

Items covered:
  • How an ebike is different than a bike
  • Issues/dangers with youth having an e-bike
  • Precautions and safety measures for youth and riders
  • Rules of the road and resources for safety
  • Q&A session

Recording to be posted soon.....the holidays have been busy!!
