Neighbors Meeting Neighbors - Our Inaugural Event!

Over the years, it has been a PVE tradition to celebrate a night of community connection and safety awareness.  Typically, this event has been in August.  We've changed this event to the spring in order to get more neighbors together.

On Sunday, May 22, 2022 we launched our Neighbors Meeting Neighbors event and it was a spectacular success!  It was wonderful to see so many people come out and rekindle our community relationships. Residents of all ages came to the events in each area and enjoyed the day, ice cream, music, each other and, meeting new neighbors.

At each of our locations, many neighbors commented that they’d like to get together again soon or have a Block Meeting about what’s happening with crime and safety in their area. Some expressed interest in getting more information on Disaster Preparedness or security cameras.  We loved the enthusiasm and your PVE NW Area Coordinator can be your resource to help get a meeting going on your block.

Special caravan guests included Crimefighting Dog Officer McGruff, our first responders (PVE PD and LA Country Fire Dept) and City Council members.  Hopefully you had an opportunity to wish retiring Community Relations Officer, Marcelle Herrera, a happy retirement.

This event promoted one of the primary neighborhood safety strategies – knowing your neighbors.

Thank You for Helping to Make the Event a Success!
