CALENDAR OF PVE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH EVENTS

PVE Neighborhood Watch sponsors events throughout the year to help the community to get to know your neighbors, meet the PVE Police Department, learn about safety programs and explore resources available to our community. Events are open to the public and targeted for PVE residents.

Besides accomplishing our most active calendar of events ever (see right column), we also have these special things to add:

2021 Calendar is Coming!

​Your PVE Neighborhood Watch Board is putting together another exciting year of events for safety awareness, crime prevention and community connection.

​Planned for the Future:  

  • Bike Safety Event:  For youth adults, this live Zoom event will provide everyone with safety tips and guidelines.  Date and information still to be determined. 
  • Neighborhood Night Out:  We encourage neighborhoods to gather and get to know each other.  We will continue our tradition of caravan visits by PVE PD, Fire, City officials and Officer McGruff.  This will be a replacement for the August National Night Out event.  Find out more...
  • Lunada Bay Harvest Festival:  We enjoy being a part of this annual tradition.  Stop by our PVE Neighborhood Watch booth to say "hi" and have some fun. ​

March:  
  • PV Little League Opening Day, 3/29/2020 -- Stop by our booth at Valmonte Field
​July:  
  • Show Your Colors”  PVE City-Wide Flag Celebration (May 21 - July 4:)  
    ​Show your spirit for Memorial Day, Flag Day and the 4th of July!  Properly retire your old flag and purchase a new one, supporting our own local Lunada Bay Hardware and working with resident scout, Isabella Brannan. Find out more....

  • Online Neighborhood Meetings June & July -- 
    Area gatherings via Zoom to find out what's happening, meet your PVE PD Community Lead Officer, get to know your PVE Neighborhood Watch Area Coordinator, learn about crime trends and police updates. Find out more.... ​
July:
  • 4th of July Curbside & Cul-de-Sac Community Event:  Whether we have social distancing or are back to normal, we can still celebrate the 4th!  We have worked with our local grocers to create fun "box lunch picnics"  you can buy to create a "socially safe" neighborhood event.  Find out more...
September:
  • Block Captain Zoom Meeting:  Current and interested Block Captains will be gathering on Zoom.   Held 9/23/2020

  • Emergency Preparedness Forum Wednesday, 10/21 via Zoom:  Learn how you can be more prepared.  Find out more...
  • Family "Power Out" Event 10/30/2020:  Have a different kind of "spooky" night and see if you are prepared if the power was really out.  A fun and educational alternative to trick or treating.  Find out more...
November:
  • Annual Meeting November 18, 7pm via Zoom:  This year, PVE Neighborhood Watch celebrated its 40th anniversary.  We had a great turnout for our Zoom community celebration.  Get slides and recordings here.  
December:
  • Santa Comes to PVE. In spite of "the grinch" trying to cancel gatherings and fun, our PVE City Staff have coordinated events with Santa.  Parade 12/19, Letters to Santa through 12/23.  Find out more...
  • Celebrate PVE Community - Shop Local for the Holidays:  ​In this holiday season, let’s remember that building community includes embracing our local businesses who help to create the charm and essential services in our city. City Council Meetings
Second and fourth Tuesdays of the month (dark in August) at 6:30 p.m.  Meetings are held online via Zoom and are open to the public.  

There are items that are discussed concerning neighborhood safety at each meeting.  Further, the Interim Police Chief usually presents an update on police activities.
