September and October are two months that the Nation focuses on emergency preparedness.
Palos Verdes Estates has its own unique set of safety risks that require safety plans:
- Power lines and equipment are old and unplanned outages occur
- PVE is a designated High-Risk Fire Zone (link to source)
- Our City is slightly remote and there are limited exit points
- PVE has lots of parkland and open space that contain wildlife, large trees and brush
