Let’s outsmart the criminals and keep our homes and neighborhoods safe! Use these tips and pass them along to your friends and neighbors
Get Started with these Tips:
- Set up automatic timers on key lights so your house looks lived in.
Have them set before the time change so you can verify that everything is working correctly. These timers can be used when you go on vacation, as well. - Make sure that you update any timed lights that you have working already.
Do you have garage lights or outdoor lights that are on a timer? Make sure they are adjusted so that they go on right before darkness. - Make your timer update a family event.
Create a list today of all the timers, clocks and other devices that need to be changed and go through your list on November 5! You’ll have a list for years to come. - Add testing your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to the list and make it a seasonal fire and crime safety checklist!
